LifeWorks and Just For Starters

The LifeWorks Course aims to provide those wanting to know more about what we believe with a basic understanding of Christianity. The course is run at St Tom’s on Tuesday evenings in May and June, and provides participants with a welcoming and relaxing environment where they can listen to a short talk and have conversations with those on their table. Dinner, dessert and drinks are served and children’s programs are provided so parents can enjoy a distraction-free evening.

Just For Starters is a Bible Study Group which commences shortly after the LifeWorks course finishes. It is aimed at those who have completed LifeWorks and are interested in more in-depth study of Christianity and Christian living.

The Marriage Course

The Marriage Course

The Marriage Course is a very practical, seven-week course for couples. It aims to give any married couple (or any couple in a long-term relationship, such as a de-facto relationship) the tools to build a strong and healthy marriage that lasts a lifetime. Over seven evenings spent together, couples talk about important issues that can get swept under the carpet in the rush of daily life.

Privacy as a couple is always respected. There is no group discussion and no requirement to disclose anything about your relationship to anyone else.

The course, while based on Christian principles, is very helpful for any couple with or without a Christian faith or church background.

Tom’s Big Weekend

Tom's Big Weekend logoTom’s Big Weekend (TBW) is the time when we join as one church under God to learn and fellowship together. In recent years we have had weekends in (at St Tom’s) and away (at The Tops Conference Centre, Stanwell Tops). It’s a great opportunity to learn from God’s word, relax and fellowship with one another.

The Bible in Perspective

The Bible in Perspective is an eight-session programme that takes participants through the Bible. The aims of the programme are:

  • To give Bible readers a framework on which to place their approach to any particular book or passage
  • To give an over-all view of the Bible’s material and to help participants to see how various books and personalities fit in with one another

The Bible in Perspective programme is suitable for those who are quite new to the Bible or who feel the need to get a better perspective on the Bible. The programme will run on Thursday nights from 14th October to 2nd December and will be led by Jim South, who compiled the course.
